What is the International Mathematics Tournament?

International Mathematics Tournament, Bogazici University And EDUNETWORK is a mathematics knowledge competition organized in cooperation with, encouraging mathematical thinking skills and competing internationally. The tournament will be held face-to-face and participants will go through a two-stage process. Students who are successful in the first stage will be eligible to participate in the final tournament.

Who can participate in the tournament?

Students studying in public and private schools in Turkey will participate in the tournament:

•Primary school 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students,

•Middle school 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students can participate.

Students will compete with questions appropriate to their grade level.

How to make applications?

Applications, www.bosphorusmath.com will be done online via the website. Students can apply individually, and schools can apply collectively as an institution. The application process is completed for a certain fee and payment is made securely via the website.

On what dates will the tournament be held?

The stages of the tournament are as follows:

Application Start: October 7, 2024

Deadline for Institutional Applications: November 11, 2024

Deadline for Individual Applications: November 25, 2024

First Stage Tournament: December 14, 2024

Announcement of Results: January 13, 2025

Final Tournament: February 15, 2025

Announcement of Final Results: March 3, 2025

Awards Ceremony: It will be announced after the final results announcement date.

How much does the tournament cost?

How will tournament questions be prepared and scored?

Tournament questions, Bogazici UniversityIt has been prepared by a scientific committee consisting of prestigious academicians and mathematics teachers from Turkey's leading schools. There will be 20 multiple choice questions at each grade level. The questions are scored as 4, 5 and 6 points. The maximum score is 100 and the exam duration is 60 minutes.

What kind of prizes are given at the end of the tournament?

The top 5 students in each class will be eligible to participate in the final tournament. The following awards will be given to students who rank in the final tournament:

1st prize: 10,000 TL education support, Certificate of Outstanding Achievement and 1st place medal,

2nd prize: 7,000 TL education support, Certificate of Outstanding Achievement and 2nd place medal,

3rd prize: 5,000 TL education support, Certificate of Outstanding Achievement and 3rd place medal,

•A certificate of achievement and medal for the top 10 students.

How to become an examination center?

Schools wishing to become exam centers must apply and meet certain conditions. A certain number of exam centers will be determined in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Adana and other provinces. The conditions for becoming an exam center will be sent to the schools applying via e-mail. The schools applying will be notified after the evaluation whether the applications have been accepted or not.

How will the tournament results be announced?

The first stage tournament results will be announced on January 13, 2025. The results, www.bosphorusmath.com will be announced on the website and finalist students will be notified separately. The final tournament results will be announced on the website on March 3, 2025.
